Library
The library-information complex of the Law Faculty of the St. Petersburg State University was rewarded with the Prize in 2001. The Library of the Law Faculty is a unique depository of legal knowledge. It's stock contains about million volumes and increases by 25,000 books per year. The decoration of our library is the old Russian stock, which includes more than 18,000 books of the well-known Russian lawyers of the 18th and of the beginning of the 19th century. The old book stock in foreign languages is approximately the same. Every day the stocks of our library are replenished by legal novelties. The depository, supplied with the modern equipment, is situated on the basement floor of the building of the Faculty.
The Library is fully computerized. All the readers have electronic library tickets. The order of books is through the electronic catalogue, which is accessible both from any computer of the Faculty, and through the Internet. So the book can be chosen and ordered, staying at home. There are four spacious reading halls on the second of the main building of the Faculty and Internet hall of the B.N. Yeltsin President library. They are equipped with modern furniture, conditioners and about 140 computers.
Students can use the Internet, print necessary texts and documents, have their own computer files. There is free access to legislative data-bases «Kodeks», «Garant», «Consultant +» and foreign data-bases. All the information recourses of the library are available to the readers at any time.
